Sparking our Leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic: A Schweitzer Fellowship approach (Part 1)

We hope everyone is well in these unprecedented times. We wanted to remind you all that this Thursday (5pPST/7pCST/8pEST) is Part 1 of our three-part webinar series called Sparking our Leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic: A Schweitzer Fellowship approach. On Thursday’s webinar, Dr. Lachlan Forrow* will describe the impact of COVID-19, and provide a problem-solving framework for addressing the virus followed by a QA. Then, we will connect in small breakouts to address specific issues facing our communities.

“My reasons for participating in this seminar are probably very similar to yours. As a medical student and Schweitzer Fellow For Life, I feel overwhelmed by the current crisis. I’m not an essential healthcare worker, but I want to be able to help my community in their time of crisis. Having the spaces to discuss my motivation for change and leadership are hard to come by, which is why series like these are so needed. It also provides an opportunity to listen and be inspired by profound leaders like yourselves, and learn about all the good that you are doing in your own communities.” –  Ekene Ezenwa (Tulsa FFL 2017-18)

We hope that you will spend this hour with us to listen, contribute, and collaborate with our Schweitzer community. Please RSVP HERE and forward to any Schweitzer FFL/Fellows that may be interested.

*Dr. Lachlan Forrow received his M.D. from Harvard and completed his residency training in primary care internal medicine at Rhode Island Hospital and Brown University. Dr. Forrow was a Faculty Fellow in Ethics in 1988-89, and became a Faculty Associate of the Ethics Center at the end of that year. In 2007, Dr. Forrow was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for Community Service from Harvard Medical School. He was a Schweitzer Lambaréné Fellow in 1982 and serves as the chair of the National Schweitzer Fellowship.
